Monster Nitrous Black Ice Energy Review

The whole line of Nitrous drinks by Monster is interesting, there's nothing I love more than an energy drink that supposedly provides more energy than usual, even though some really don't. It's cool that this drink has zero calories and zero sugar yet claims to be "extra strength", I was excited to see if it really was.

The Bottle:
The design of the bottle is really nice looking, it looks good and stands out from others out there. The color scheme fits a drink with the name "Black Ice" nicely. The light blue looks good and overall they did a good job with the bottle.

The Drink:
I didn't shake the bottle at all but when I popped it open, I noticed a lot of carbonation. The first Nitrous drink I tried, Super Dry had pretty much no carbonation when I opened it. I let it settle a bit and then took a sip and it still tasted foamy. The taste was really sweet and rich, it didn't taste sour at all like a lot of energy drinks, but it wasn't really that bad. The taste wasn't really to my liking but it wasn't like it was horrible, but if you like the regular Monster, don't expect this to taste anything like it because it really doesn't.

The Buzz:
It took about 10 minutes after I finished it for the energy buzz to set in, and this drink got the job done. It provided a really nice energy buzz that I really enjoyed. It lasted for about 2 1/2 hours and was above average.

The taste to me is odd, but you might like it. Definitely expect a pretty good energy buzz from this drink, it's pretty interesting.

NOS Loaded Cherry Energy Review

I first heard about this drink towards the beginning of last Summer, but I couldn't find it anywhere so I never got to try it. When I went to the store expecting to get a Rockstar, I saw this in the cooler finally and had to pick it up. I was really excited to try it because prior I'd never had another NOS flavor besides the original. Also, cherry has become one of my more favorite flavors recently. I never liked it before as much as I do now, I've been drinking a few cherry drinks here and there and I'm starting to appreciate the flavor more. Anyway, let's see how this drink compares with the original NOS in the design, taste and buzz categories.

The Can:
I like NOS' can designs, they keep it pretty basic but it looks cool. As for the name, I like it, even though "Loaded Cherry" sounds like a band. The shade of red looks good and it's definitely easy to tell the difference between this and NOS' fruit punch flavor.

The Drink:
The tab on the top of the can is the same as on a can of Red Bull, and when I opened it it smelled awesome. Upon taking a sip, it tasted excellent, it's like a cherry tootsie-pop only in liquid form, and it tastes like cherry soda too. It tastes so good, I was worried that the cherry would be a little overpowering like some drinks can be, but not even close.

The Buzz:
NOS really did great with this one and the energy buzz matched up pretty evenly with the original NOS, which is pretty much perfect. The energy buzz lasted for a few hours and it really helped me out because I was tired and had a headache.

When you see this drink somewhere, pick up one..or 20.

Monster Nitrous Super Dry Energy Review

I tried this drink for the first time awhile ago, but forgot to review it. So, I picked up another bottle/can and decided to drink it and review it. These nitrous drinks actually contain nitrous and are supposed to be stronger than a regular Monster in the energy department. I like the fast that these include nitrous, it's something unique and I've never seen it in another energy drink before. While NOS bottles look like nitrous bottles, the drink doesn't actually contain nitrous. The bottle also reminds me of the old Jolt can which were discontinued recently. The bottle this comes in is the kind that makes the loud "pop" when you open it.

The Bottle:
I like the design of the bottle, it's interesting and they did a pretty good job. Yet again, I can laugh at the description on the back of it though. When I saw that it supposedly contained Nitrous, I immediately thought of snorting the gas from whipped cream cans, which is called a whip-it. The back of the bottle actually says that it isn't a whip-it, but will get you buzzed (or something along those lines).

The Can:
Since the design is black and green, I figured that it would taste a lot like the regular Monster. Well, it does taste similar but it isn't quite the same, it's just as sour but not quite as sweet. I really don't understand the name of the drink, my mouth didn't feel dry after I drank it so I really don't know.

The Buzz:
As for the energy buzz, it was decent but not great, just slightly above average. It lasted for about two hours before mellowing out and I didn't "crash". It was about on par with the original Monster's buzz, I'll try the drink again later and see if it gives me more of a buzz next time.

If you want an interesting drink that's still somewhat expensive, pick this up.

Max E Rush Energy Review

I was shopping at my local Save-A-Lot store, which is basically a bargain store with a lot of generic brands with unusual/funny names. Whenever I get drinks there I usually get a Rip It because they have a cooler full of them. But, in one aisle this drink caught my eye. My first impression was that the name was kind of funny, just like the "Mountain Holler" I get there sometimes. "Max E Rush" sounds like a feminine hygeine product for extreme sports athletes. Since it was only $1, I picked one up to give it a try. I put it in the freezer for about half an hour to get it nice and cold, then I took it out, opened it, and took a sip.

The Can:
As for the can design, it isn't the most impressive but it's alright. If you've ever shopped at Save-A-Lot, you know that most of the products either have a ridiculous design or name. Still, most products at Save-A-Lot aren't bad and taste like the real thing, like Dr. Pop is like Dr. Pepper and Mighty Steed is like Trojan Condoms (I'm joking).

The Drink:
Surprisingly it wasn't quite a Red Bull clone, but it was close. It tasted a little more strong though, which tasted really good to me. It wasn't quite as smooth as Red Bull either, but not bad.

The Buzz:
The buzz started out average and stayed that way. It wasn't very impressive but atleast there was a buzz in the first place. I felt a buzz but it was mellow and didn't last too long, it wasn't the worst though.

If you ever shop at a Save-A-Lot, pick up one of these with some "Over The Border" tortilla chips on the side, just for the novelty of it.

Rockstar 2x Energy Review

This is an interesting drink. It contains 2 times the caffeine of a regular Rockstar and it comes in a slim 12oz. can. It's also "low carb", for some reason low carb drinks seem to leave a sort of odd aftertaste in my mouth after I drink them. This drink has a high caffeine content for an easily available energy drink, which is nice also. Even though it's not the highest caffeine content I've seen, I'm still a little surprised that this drink hasn't had any media attention. It seems like people enjoy going after "dangerous" energy drinks, who knows.
The Can:
This drink has a fairly nice can design that fits in nicely with the other Rockstar drinks at the store. It has a yellow tab on top and despite looking a little cluttered it doesn't look horrible.

The Drink:
After I drank the can I checked out some other reviews on it. Most people said it tasted awful, I disagree. I thought it tasted pretty good, it definitely tastes different but it's not that bad. The taste was somewhat reminiscent of lemonade and it didn't taste natural at all but honestly isn't as bad as most people say it is. I like energy shots and all, but I'd rather enjoy a drink than swig down a shot.

The Buzz:
The energy buzz hit me fast and all I can say is it's pretty strong, it's actually more strong then some energy shots I've had. Trust me, if you can't handle caffeine don't try this. The buzz lasted close to 4 hours and I actually was a little jittery, which is somewhat unusual for me. It casually wore off though and I didn't feel worn out or anything afterwards.

This drink really gave me a strong buzz that I enjoyed, the flavor wasn't horrible either. If you're sensitive to caffeine then don't try this drink, otherwise I strongly recommend it.
